POLICY FELLOWS
In addition to legal fellowships and clerkships, Senator Schiff’s office hosts Policy Fellows throughout the year. These fellowships vary in length depending on the program through which the applicant seeks placement, and the start and end dates are flexible. The office is happy to work with outside organizations and universities on placement.
Policy Fellows are placed across the legislative team based on their area(s) of expertise and interest, as well as based on the needs within the office. Policy Fellows can expect their work to cover a wide range of responsibilities, from drafting memos, letters, and legislation to meeting with constituents and stakeholders. The office aims to ensure that Fellows have a fulfilling experience on the team and have the opportunity to work on issues that align with their post-fellowship goals. Candidates must have strong writing and research skills, experience working in a fast-paced environment, and thrive in a collaborative team. California ties are preferred, but not required.
